- Serum markers of cholestasis significantly decreased in patients receiving SAM-e (P < 0.01)
- Serum levels were significantly lower in SAM-e-treated patients than placebo-treated patients (P < 0.01)
- SAM-e patients reported a significant improvement in subjective symptoms such as pruritus, fatigue, and feeling unwell (P < 0.01)
- SAM-e was tolerated as well as placebo
